STAMFORD, Conn., Jan. 23, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc. (Nasdaq: EGLE) (the “Company”) today announced that it has closed its previously announced private placement of its common stock for aggregate gross proceeds of $100 million. The private placement included the issuance of approximately 22.2 million shares of the Company’s common stock at a purchase price of $4.50 per share. The Company intends to use the proceeds of the private placement for the acquisition of dry bulk vessels and general corporate purposes.
