Ewan McGregor Cancels Appearance on Piers Morgan's U.K. TV Show After Women's March Comments

Morgan reacted with angry tweets about the star, who had been due to promote ‘Trainspotting 2’ on ITV’s ‘Good Morning Britain,’ saying “anyone who voted Trump or Brexit should boycott” his movies.

Ewan McGregor had been due to appear on U.K. breakfast TV show Good Morning Britain Tuesday morning to promote T2 Trainspotting, the long-awaited sequel that had its world premiere in Edinburgh on Sunday.

That is, until he found out who was hosting the ITV show.

The actor then tweeted:

In an article published in The Daily Mail Monday, Morgan attacked the marches held around the world on Saturday for showing what he described as the “more repellent side of feminism: the vile, crude, man-hating, violent, nasty side.”

He went on to criticize the likes of Madonna and Ashley Judd, who had spoken at the Washington march, saying they had “whipped [the crowd] into a man-hating frenzy,” concluding with: “Ladies, I love you. But if you let the nasty women win, you lose.”

Unsurprisingly, Morgan – who has openly boasted about his friendship with Donald Trump – hit back at McGregor, tweeting:

Although McGregor didn’t respond and has so far remained quiet on the matter, Morgan then spent much of the following two hours on Twitter retweeting those who agreed with him, attacking those who didn’t and continuing to lash out at the Trainspotting star. He even added that he would be writing a column about McGregor, which he would send to the actor “for his approval.”

And he ended up calling on people to boycott the star, tweeting: “Anyone who voted Trump or Brexit should boycott @mcgregor_ewan’s movies. He holds you in utter contempt.”
