NOAA-NWS-ALERTS-MI12584ABA45F0.FloodAdvisory.12584B1661A0MI.GRRFLSGRR.ca4c5187110a21581a39a0ef82cf3a5a w-nws.webmaster@noaa.gov 2017-04-20T10:36:00-04:00 Actual Alert Public Alert for Osceola (Michigan) Issued by the National Weather Service Met Flood Advisory Expected Minor Likely SAME 2017-04-20T10:36:00-04:00 2017-04-26T14:00:00-04:00 NWS Grand Rapids (Southwestern Michigan) Flood Advisory issued April 20 at 10:36AM EDT until April 26 at 2:00PM EDT by NWS Grand Rapids …The flood advisory continues for the following rivers in Southwest Lower Michigan… Muskegon River At Evart affecting Osceola County Grand River At Ionia affecting Ionia County Sycamore Creek At Holt affecting Ingham County Looking Glass River Near Eagle affecting Clinton County Maple River At Maple Rapids affecting Clinton County .Rainfall amounts ranging from a half inch to over one inch fell across much of the area Thursday morning. Additional basin-average rainfall of about a half-inch is expected especially in the upper Grand and Kalamazoo river basins. This will lead to rises on some rivers and prolong the stages above bankfull. The following forecast is based on observed and forecast 24 hour precipitation. The Flood Advisory continues for the Muskegon River At Evart * until Wednesday April 26. * at 09 AM Thursday the stage was 10.4 feet. * Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. * Flood stage is 12.0 feet. * Forecast, the river will rise to near 10.7 feet after midnight tonight. * Impact, at 10.5 feet…Flood waters begin to surround homes upstream of Evart in the Jeffery subdivision along Linden and Riverside Roads. Portions of Linden and Riverside Roads in the Jeffery subdivision begin to go underwater. High water also begins to cover Trout Drive in the Doc and Tom subdivision located just east of M66 off of 9 Mile Road. && Safety message…Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. A flood advisory means minor flooding is possible and rivers are forecast to exceed bankfull. If you are in the advisory area remain alert to possible flooding…or the possibility of the advisory being upgraded to a warning. Report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information on to the National Weather Service.
