PITTSBURGH, Feb. 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — An inventor from Desert Hot Springs, Calif., has developed the PRESSURE EASE, a mattress overlay designed for individuals who are bedridden that will help prevent the formation of pressure ulcers or may aid in the healing of existing pressure ulcers. This item can be employed atop standard mattresses within homes, hospitals and nursing homes. A prototype is available.
“Many people are bedridden due to their age or certain medical conditions. It’s obviously a very isolating experience and can lead to uncomfortable pressure sores due to limited movement. This mattress overlay will help heal and prevent bed sores, making the experience of being bedridden a more comfortable one,” said the inventor.
The PRESSURE EASE prevents the formation of pressure sores. It also promotes the healing of existing pressure sores. This will provide added comfort for patients. In addition, this mattress will reduce injuries to various areas of the body due to repositioning patients.
The inventor went on to say, “I was caring for a loved one who developed several ulcers that were very deep while in a care facility. I developed it after bringing her home to care for her and saw daily improvement until total healing took place.”
The original design was submitted to the San Diego office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
