NEW YORK, Feb. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Every Child a Reader is proud to announce the finalists for the 11th Children’s & Teen Choice Book Award, the only national book awards voted on solely by kids and teens, providing young people with an opportunity to cast a vote and “voice their choice.”
The list of finalists and voting ballots are online now at EveryChildaReader.net/choice. The “voting booth” opens March 1 and is open until May 6, the last day of Children’s Book Week. The winning authors and illustrators will be announced on May 30th at a special ceremony at BookExpo in New York City.
Additionally, Every Child a Reader is looking to sign up 750 schools, libraries, and bookstores across America to host Children’s Book Week voting, reading, or author/illustrator events. Registration is now open, with participating locations to receive free Book Week posters, access to downloadable materials, and a listing on an interactive online national map. The deadline for event sign-up is Feb. 9, 2018.
The 20 finalists for the 2018 awards are rich in relevance and diversity, with storylines about life’s daily challenges, important historical figures, and books about books themselves. There are five finalists in each of the three children’s book categories: K – 2nd grade, 3rd – 4th grades, and 5th– 6th grades, and five finalists in the teen category.
