NOAA-NWS-ALERTS-MI12584A9BBCC0.FloodAdvisory.12584AA9BD20MI.GRRFLSGRR.89949cede46621edb30e52ed2cb7a1a3 w-nws.webmaster@noaa.gov 2017-04-18T10:24:00-04:00 Actual Alert Public Alert for Kent (Michigan) Issued by the National Weather Service Met Flood Advisory Expected Minor Likely SAME 2017-04-18T10:24:00-04:00 2017-04-19T02:00:00-04:00 NWS Grand Rapids (Southwestern Michigan) Flood Advisory issued April 18 at 10:24AM EDT until April 19 at 2:00AM EDT by NWS Grand Rapids …The flood advisory continues for the following rivers in Southwest Lower Michigan… Maple River At Maple Rapids affecting Clinton County Grand River At Ionia affecting Ionia County Grand River At Lowell affecting Kent County Grand River Near Comstock Park affecting Kent County Looking Glass River Near Eagle affecting Clinton County Muskegon River At Evart affecting Osceola County .River levels are falling for the most part, except for the Muskegon River, which continues to rise due to recent rainfall. Light rainfall is possible Tuesday night. This should not impact the rivers. Heavier rainfall will be more likely Wednesday night and Thursday. This could result in elevated river levels once again. The Flood Advisory continues for the Grand River Near Comstock Park * until late tonight. * at 10 PM Monday the stage was 11.1 feet. * Bankfull stage is 11.0 feet. * Flood stage is 12.0 feet. * Forecast, the river will continue to fall. * Impact, at 11.0 feet…River is bankfull. && Safety message… Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. A flood advisory means minor flooding is possible and rivers are forecast to exceed bankfull. If you are in the advisory area, remain alert to possible flooding or the possibility of the advisory being upgraded to a warning. Report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information on to the National Weather Service.
